dydocontrast
Management Summary
dydocontrast is an application that enables the textual comparison of PDF files. One of the main requirements for many migrations between different output management systems is that the documents in the new application generate the same content as the old documents. The different formatters almost always render the texts differently despite having the same fonts, so that a pure pixel comparison would result in a difference (delta). It is not uncommon for the new document generator to create page breaks that did not exist in the old system. However, the content of the text must be the same.
Based on this requirement, dydocontrast offers the following functions:
Comparison
- Identical texts that were output differently due to hyphenation are not output as a delta
- Different page breaks do not lead to a delta if the texts are the same
- Certain areas on a page can be excluded from the comparison
- Specify page groups that can be defined using search patterns.
- Comparison of only certain page groups
- Configuration of various comparison profiles via JSON files
- Automatic recognition of multi-column text
- Automatic recognition of tables
- OCR recognition and subsequent text comparison of scanned text / text stored as graphics within a PDF.
Batch processing
- Mass comparison of file pairs that are specified using a file list
- Mass comparison of file pairs that are determined using metadata (XMP), e.g. via the same document ID
- Mass comparison of documents in large batch PDFs, in which the document pairs are determined using specific texts in defined page groups.
Report
- Marking the deltas in the reference and candidate document
- Batch report on all file comparisons
- Detailed report on deltas with page and file details
Graphical admin and user interface
- Individual comparison of file pairs
- Mass comparison of files with administration of job queues
- Configuration of page types, profiles, user administration
